1986 ChipSoft began developing software products for medical specialists and
various hospital departments. In 1994 we introduced our first hospital
information system. In 2001 ChipSoft played a pioneering role with the launch
of the first integrated Windows-based care information system:
the Electronic Care Information System
(CS-ECIS).
ChipSoft always has focused exclusively on supplying the health
care sector. We are a household name for powerful ICT solutions within Dutch
hospitals. Although our products are already used in six European countries,
ChipSoft is still a purely Dutch software house. Our staff’s thorough knowledge
of health care has proven to be invaluable for implementation and support.

With CS-ECIS, ChipSoft offers care institutions a complete range of products
and services. This creates a single point of contact for all your
computerization questions.
The CS-ECIS, which supports various care processes, is divided into the
following concepts: inpatients, outpatients, order communication, EPR generation
(Electronic Patient Record), invoicing and procedure administration. In a single
system, patient records, planning schedules, patient flow organization,
medication and administrative transactions are processed and made readily
comprehensible.
Of course, both the concepts and the various functionalities can be
implemented independently, without the complete implementation of the CS-ECIS
being necessary. These concepts and functionalities can be deployed optimally
within your care institution and the integration with any systems already
present is guaranteed.

Inventing accessible software applications requires ingenuity and specialist
knowledge, but certainly just as important is a creative approach. ChipSoft’s
system developers enjoy the challenge of meeting the wishes of both users and
managers as best they can. Through continuous training in the latest technical
developments and intensive contact with day-to-day practice, our Research &
Development department forms a strong team that develops practical applications
and keeps them up-to-date.
They have laid an excellent foundation with the CS-ECIS’ flexible multi-layer
architecture. This guarantees that the software can develop continuously,
because the database, functionalities and user interface can evolve
independently from each other. Due to its modular construction and flexible
configuration, the CS-ECIS does not have one, but many facets.

implementation of the software, our customers can rely on flexible assistance
from our support department. The submission of support questions takes place
completely online. All the questions that arrive electronically are – depending
on content and urgency - dealt with as quickly as possible by a specialist in
that particular area. Using remote access, any problem can be traced and solved
from a remote location. In case of emergencies, we guarantee immediate
advice and support 24 hours a day.

The replacement of existing systems with new ones requires effective
supervision. Through years of experience in this field, ChipSoft has developed a
working method that places as little pressure on the organization as possible.
Together with the customer, we develop an implementation plan. Thanks to our
flexible and modular software, various scenarios are possible: from phased
implementation to the replacement of an existing system in a single operation.
Each user needs time to become familiar with a new system. Which is why we
take training very seriously. Instruction takes place under the supervision of a
competent and enthusiastic team of ChipSoft consultants. Once the users are
working independently with the system, they have access to relevant
documentation at any given moment through the context-sensitive online help.

An important underlying theme in the development of our software is that it
must be able to work with other suppliers’ programs. The CS-ECIS integrates
seamlessly with your institution’s modern office environment. You can decide
whether to use Windows clients, thin clients and/or mobile computing, such as
hand-held devices.
The CS-ECIS’ open architecture is entirely based on worldwide standards.
Thanks to the flexible plug-in architecture, third party modules can be simply
plugged into the CS-ECIS. Of course, links for integration with the outside
world are also supported.
Security
Careful Data Management
Being able to quickly and easily search for and exchange data electronically,
both inside and outside the walls of your institution, has many benefits. It of
course means that security has to be at its best. After all: both institution
and patients must be able to assume that their data are handled with care.
ChipSoft has consequently taken the security concept very seriously; it is
both practical and efficient. Access codes are personal and linked to an
adjustable authorization profile. In addition, log files ensure that every
viewing and alteration can be traced retrospectively. Modern encryption is used
for the external exchange of data.

With the launch of the CS-ECIS, ChipSoft has laid the foundations for
countless future expansions. These can go beyond the traditional boundaries
between medical and management information. The CS-ECIS is an evolving system,
with the Electronic Patient Record (EPR), order management, patient logistics
and invoicing forming an integrated entity.
The building blocks of the CS-ECIS are the individual functions, which can be
assembled as components in a configure-it-yourself user interface, based on the
user’s specific work processes. On the basis of their function profile, users
can consult or register various data with a single click of the mouse, without
having to start up all sorts of separate applications.
Whether the starting point is an individual patient, surgery hour, a ward or
the operating room, or whether the application is inside or outside the
institution: the CS-ECIS guarantees complete support of daily activities.
